Building The Bridge...

  • Since 1993, the number of children in foster care in Idaho has more than tripled.
  • At any given time there are more than 600 children in foster care in our region, and too few families to care for them.

The Bridge is a multi-phased program established in 2005 with the goal of improving these statistics and the way children enter the foster care system in Idaho.

In Phase I The Bridge is actively educating, recruiting, and helping retain foster families for Idaho’s Region IV (Ada, Boise, Elmore and Valley Counties). We are achieving our goals through corporate and civic presentations and community outreach training sessions called “Foster Parenting 101.” To learn more or schedule a presentation, e-mail speakers@fosteridaho.com.

Phase II is The Bridge Homes. We recently purchased two homes in the Treasure Valley where licensed foster parents, experienced in providing exceptional care to children, have the opportunity to apply to live rent-free for up to three years in exchange for caring for our community’s most vulnerable children.

We need your help to purchase furnishings and accessories for our brand new Bridge Homes, and we’ve made it easy for you to help by registering for the specific items we need.
